The Media Services department at RWS provides transcription, subtitling, audio (voice over), video localization and accessibility solutions in over 80+ languages . We help our clients communicate with global audiences on time and with superior quality.
Due to rapid expansion in video services, we are looking for a highly motivated Transcription Specialist with experience managing audio-visual projects in a multilingual environment to join our fast-growing global production team. The successful applicant will join part of a dynamic team working on a diverse range of project types across some of the world’s biggest brands.

The first 12 months of the contract will focus on creating a specific training plan for the candidate for working in the Multimedia team in RWS, giving the candidate the opportunity to see all different aspects of production and develop their expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Transcription of media assets and origination of subtitles
- Transcription and captioning - Spotting of subtitles
- Technical and Linguistic Quality control of subtitle files

- Audio Description
- Descriptive Transcript for the Blind and Visually Impaired
- Planning and scheduling of multi-lingual subtitling projects, coordinating delivery schedules and workflows with the team and external resources as required.
- Administrative tasks including creating quotes and maintaining inboxes.
- Vendors management and support to Supply chain for expansion of freelancer pool.
- Assisting senior team members with subtitling queries and requests as well as Audio script preparation.
- Assisting senior team members with ad hoc tasks including testing of new tools and software, providing feedback on accounts and general KPIs and providing support on pricing proposals/RFQs.
- Mentoring and Training junior team members
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 2 years subtitling experience and/or multimedia project management experience in relevant sectors:
- Video production
- Audio (voice over) production
- Translation
- Native English speaker
- Knowledge of 1 or more foreign languages
- Technical knowledge of subtitle formats, process, specifications, guidelines and software
- Knowledge of Accessibility guidelines (SDH and Audio Description)
- Organized with ability to prioritize
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive approach to deliver outstanding results
Education
- Language degree specialization in Audio-visual/Screen Translation, or completion of one or more modules in this area
