8th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher Description: The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills, preparing them for high school and beyond. This position requires strong instructional abilities, classroom management skills, and a commitment to student growth.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Building Principal
Qualifications: - Professional Educator License Required or Short Term Approval for LA 5-8

Responsibilities: - Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans that align with district and state curriculum guidelines.
- Teach reading comprehension, literature analysis, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Integrate technology and digital literacy into instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in accordance with school policies.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required.
