Job Description
Language coordinator
Communication and Publishing Department, Asia North Area
Responsibilities
- Provide English to Korean and Korean to English interpretation, both side by side and simultaneous, for church leaders in meetings including devotionals, stake conferences, etc.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously by effectively allocating resources
- Recruit, train, supervise and review the work of contractors
- Record voices for audiovisual productions
- Research, translate, review and proofread assigned materials including the Liahona, Textbooks, churchofjesuschrist.org, FamilySearch and S&I content and video subtitles and scripts
- Take ownership of projects to improve the Church’s communication and publishing services
Qualifications
- Worthy of holding a temple recommend
- B.A. degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Knowledge of Church doctrine, policies and ecclesiastical organization preferred
- Experience in interpretation including a volunteer work
- Experience in project and resource management
- Near-native ability with both English and Korean
- Strong research and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using computer applications. (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
