Position Overview
The TTS Audio Specialist facilitates various text-to-speech voice generation, audio editorial and creative production tasks specific to localization and accessibility client orders and internal initiatives. This technical position requires a high level of focus on audio detail and creative processes, and sits at a unique intersection of audio production, vocal performance, localization and technology integration. The ideal candidate is an audio expert motivated by new and evolving production processes, emerging technologies and forward-thinking Ai-integrated media workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform production duties using both internal and external text-to-speech tools as assigned:
- Voice selection and performance generation.
- Dialogue editorial of voice recordings and generations.
- Project preparation: Importing, conforming and altering of Dub and AD scripts.
- Audio QC of vendor/freelancer delivered projects and internally produced audio files.
- Manage assigned audio assets and projects for TTS production operations.
- Creative performance and technical output on localization and accessibility projects as assigned:
- Train and evaluate potential audio operators, post editors and creatives across assigned projects and territories.
- Review general script adaptation and timing quality across multiple inputs.
- Establish KPIs for audio TTS generators across a newly trained workforce.
- Evaluate and test all current and future TTS Ai tools for audio creation and video manipulation.
General Audio Operator Responsibilities
- Ensure a solid technical understanding of dialogue editorial, processing and EQ for voice recording and post-production assignments.
- Maintain a strong technical grasp of quality control for voice recordings, voice performance and TTS project requirements.
- Master all required tools and platforms across Deluxe and external client or vendor systems.
- Perform audio engineer duties with in-studio and/or remote recording sessions where needed; collaborating with directors, performers and creative supervisors.
- Quickly learn new tools and environments related to audio and postproduction, specifically in the text-to-speech, localization and accessibility spaces.
- Operate internal and external TTS voice generation tools for localization and audio description projects.
- Collaborate with management to ensure the quality of all projects meet client and industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with other teams and departments, promptly responding to project requests and ensuring timely delivery while adhering to deadlines and style guidelines.
- Stay informed about the latest standards, changes, and trends in the industry, as well as the latest technologies and tools.
- Monitor department trackers and timelines to ensure deliveries are completed on-time and project expectations are met.
- Complete other production-related duties as assigned at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of audio postproduction experience, audio degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Avid Pro Tools required, competency with industry audio plugins a plus.
- Thorough understanding of technical audio postproduction workflows and studio specifications focused on voice production and audio/video media localization.
- Proficiency with recording software, prompting and cloud recording platforms a plus.
- Experience participating in dubbing and/or creative recording sessions desired.
- Familiarity with TTS, ASR, MTPE, LLMs workflows a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, nuance and file management.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
- Competency in word processor and spreadsheet software (Office, GSuite, etc.).
- Comfortability in an iterative fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and weekends if needed.
- Self-starter, problem-solver; strong collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork.
- Curiosity, openness and passion for Ai technologies and production workflows required.
This is not a remote working opportunity. The TTS Audio Specialist is required to work in-person and onsite business hours Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a studio office environment engaging with creative, administrative and production teams, as well as collaborating with Deluxe teams working in various capacities globally.

This role is based in Burbank, California and the base pay range for this role is $33.65 - $40.86/hr. Actual amounts will vary depending on education, skills, experience, and geographic location.
