Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Spanish Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication across diverse settings, including healthcare, social services, and legal environments. Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation between Spanish-speaking clients and English-speaking staff across various settings such as hospitals, clinics, child protective services, and social work agencies.
- Translate written documents, medical records, and legal paperwork ensuring clarity and fidelity to original content.
- Assist with documentation review, ensuring all records are complete and correctly interpreted for case files or medical charts.
- Support communication during medical procedures by interpreting medical terminology accurately for healthcare providers and patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Facilitate interpretation for American Sign Language (ASL) when required, supporting diverse communication needs.
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, and legal teams to ensure effective communication during meetings or interviews.
- Document interpretation sessions accurately for record-keeping purposes while adhering to privacy standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a multilingual interpreter or translator, preferably within healthcare or social service environments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital procedures, and child protective services protocols.
- Experience interpreting in settings involving medical records review or documentation review processes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards related to medical records and patient information.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required; additional language skills such as American Sign Language are a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively across diverse audiences.
- Prior experience working in hospital settings or social work is highly desirable to ensure familiarity with the nuances of these environments. This role is vital in ensuring equitable access to services for Spanish-speaking populations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
