Interpreter – Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese (Immigration Interviews & In-Person Assignments)
Overview
We are seeking experienced and reliable Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese interpreters to provide in-person interpretation services for immigration interviews and other official appointments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent language skills, cultural awareness, and a strong commitment to professionalism. This role is essential to ensuring clear and accurate communication between clients and officials.
Duties
- Provide accurate real-time interpretation during immigration interviews and other in-person appointments.
- Facilitate clear communication between English speakers and non-English speakers.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and neutrality at all times.
- Convey messages accurately and professionally, without omissions or additions.
- Understand the context and nuances of conversations to provide high-quality interpretation.
- Remain punctual, professional, and respectful during all assignments.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and at least one of the following: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese.
- Prior interpretation experience preferred, especially in legal, immigration, or medical settings.
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation to attend in-person assignments.
- Certification or formal training is a plus but not required.
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible schedule — assignments vary based on client needs.
- Compensation is per assignment. Rates are competitive and discussed based on experience and location.
