Interpreters Needed (In-Person Immigration Appointments)
We are hiring in-person interpreters to assist individuals during USCIS immigration interviews at field offices throughout New York and New Jersey. Interpreters ensure that communication between clients and immigration officers is clear, accurate, and respectful.
Languages Needed
We are especially seeking interpreters fluent in English and one or more of the following languages:
- Russian
- Polish
- Arabic
- Bengali
- Urdu
- Hindi
- Punjabi
- Turkish
- Farsi (Persian)
- Tigrinya
- Amharic
- Pashto
- Dari
If your language is not listed here, you are still welcome to apply — demand changes weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret spoken communication accurately and completely during USCIS interviews and related appointments.
- Maintain neutrality, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
- Convey tone, context, and meaning accurately—without additions, omissions, or personal opinions.
- Arrive on time and present a respectful, professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and at least one target language listed above.
- Previous experience in legal, immigration, medical, or community interpreting is helpful, but we also welcome bilingual professionals with strong communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to USCIS field offices in New York or New Jersey.
Schedule & Compensation
- Assignments are scheduled based on client interviews.
- Compensation is per appointment, with competitive rates based on language and experience.
- Opportunities for ongoing, repeat, and weekday/weekend assignments are available.
