Freelance Medical Interpreter (1099 Contractor)

About Us
Praevo Language Solutions LLC is a growing, full-service language agency providing professional interpretation and translation services nationwide. We specialize in medical and workers’ compensation interpretation, ensuring accuracy, cultural understanding, and compassion in every assignment. We are currently expanding our interpreter network for multiple languages.
Languages Needed
We are currently seeking interpreters fluent in the following languages:
- Hindi
- Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Portuguese
- Arabic
- Russian
- Haitian Creole
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, confidential, and culturally appropriate interpretation between English and the target language during medical and workers’ compensation appointments.
- Maintain professional ethics, including confidentiality and neutrality.
- Arrive on time and fully prepared for each assignment.
- Accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent between both parties.
- Submit timesheets and documentation promptly after each completed job.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of medical interpretation experience (workers’ comp experience preferred).
- Proficiency in English and one of the listed target languages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation for on-site assignments (if applicable).
- Certification or formal training in medical interpretation is preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements
For compliance with our client One Call Care Management, all interpreters must submit:
- A photo of your driver’s license (front)
- A photo of yourself holding your driver’s license (the ID must be clear and readable)
This verification step is required before activation and ensures compliance with professional standards.
Compensation & Terms
- $40/hour (2-hour minimum per assignment)
- $40 flat rate for no-show or same-day cancellation
- Independent contractor position (1099)
- Flexible scheduling — accept assignments based on your availability
