About the Role
We are looking for a creative and culturally attuned Script Writer & Localization Specialist to craft and adapt engaging, platform-native short drama scripts for the North American market. You will develop original storylines and localize content to resonate with TikTok audiences, balancing creative storytelling with platform algorithm trends and regional cultural preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop original, high-concept short drama scripts tailored for the North American market, including plot development, character creation, and dialogue writing optimized for TikTok's short-form format.
- Localize and adapt scripts from Chinese/other regional content to align with North American cultural nuances, humor, and storytelling conventions, while retaining core narrative appeal.
- Collaborate with production and editorial teams to refine scripts based on performance data, audience feedback, and platform trend analysis to drive viewership and engagement.
- Stay up to date with viral trends, tropes, and audience preferences on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram to inform creative direction and ensure content relevance.
Requirements
- Native English proficiency （or 10+ years of residency in the U.S.） with fluency in Mandarin Chinese preferred, to support cross-functional collaboration and script localization.
- Proven experience writing original English scripts for short drama/short-form content, with a portfolio of work demonstrating strong storytelling, pacing, and character development skills.
- Deep familiarity with TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram content trends, viral tropes, and audience behavior in the North American short drama space.
- Strong creative writing skills with the ability to adapt to different genres (romance, thriller, comedy, etc.) and iterate on feedback quickly in a fast-paced environment.
